They are all in their 20s. One of them said, I've never had anyone apologize for that before, thank you. And it's just a mindset that people of my generation need to have.
I think your natural instinct to say "hi ladies" is completely normal. And I LOVE that you recognized that you made an assumption and went back and apologized. It's definitely a new thing for older generations to understand and it takes some getting used to. You are going to make mistakes. I make mistakes with this all the time. But the fact that you are willing to grow, learn, and reflect is what makes a big difference.
